Gaia Contemporary was established in 2021 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Santa Fe is the largest art market in the United States after New York, and per-capita, the largest art market in the world. Located in the heart of the art historical district, Gaia Contemporary focuses on sculpture, painting, jewelry, photography, art furniture and Japanese antiquities.

The founders of the gallery, an American lawyer and his Japanese wife, have a deep cultural interest in Japan and divide their time between Santa Fe and Tokyo. Their affinity for Western aesthetics and Japanese minimalism was the motivation for launching the gallery. Through the interweaving of these two cultures, Gaia Contemporary offers a unique and fresh vision.

The gallery's aesthetic is rooted in and inspired by contemporary minimalism. Our curatorial standards are high and revolve around a genuine interest in and attention to innovation and artistic excellence. Our collectors value our discernment and know that we travel the world to bring them the very best in contemporary art.

In addition to mounting exhibitions, gallery staff work closely with private collectors in building their collections, locating works of art, providing art advisory services, and assisting individuals in home or corporate installations.

Inspired by a contemporary and minimalist aesthetic, Gaia Contemporary exhibits artwork by both nationally and internationally acclaimed American and Japanese artists.

We are committed to building the careers of our artists, providing expertise and guidance to collectors, and presenting compelling curated exhibitions.
